New and Minor Construction permits may take up to 15 business days to process once all necessary documentation has been submitted to the city. Remember to call the Building Inspector at 763-479-1720 a minimum of 24 hours in advance to schedule inspections. Have your building permit number available when scheduling inspections.
General Permits (Re-Roof, Re-Side, Windows)
General Permits are issued for residential re-roofing projects, re-siding, and window replacement projects. These permits may be issued at the time of application at City Hall.
A completed application must be submitted to City Hall along with heat calculations, 2 copies of a certified land survey showing where the structure is in relation to the lot lines, and 2 sets of building plans.
Minor construction refers to additions, remodeling, basement finish, fences, decks, porches, garages, utility sheds, etc.
